Our Work

Advancing the Common Good

Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life in communities throughout Kings County.

That’s why United Way’s work is focused on the building blocks for a good life.

  • Local Workplace Campaign – The United Way workplace campaign unites employees in all offices or departments of a workplace, and gives them an opportunity to donate, volunteer and speak out for causes that matter to them. You can see the results in your own backyard.
  • 211 – An easy-to-remember, three-digit dialing code used to access community resource information.  If you need help with food, housing, childcare, counseling, employment or other services, 211 can be accessed on the web at www.211kingscounty.org, by dialing 2-1-1, texting your zip code to 898211 or through the Intelliful™ mobile app.  Services are free and available 24 hours per day, every day of the year.
  • HMIS – A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a local information technology system used to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and persons at risk of homelessness.  There are currently 48 programs in Kings and Tulare Counties participating in HMIS and there are a total of 86 end users inputting homeless data from these programs.

United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the problems we experience locally. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.
